On Friday, we relayed news from Spain that Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been offered to Real Madrid after Thibaut Courtois suffered a serious knee injury. It was also stated he’s considered as an alternative to Sevilla’s Bono.

Bayern Munich have made an offer to the Blues to sign 28-year-old but they are set to miss out on him.

That’s according to AS, who state the Chelsea player has rejected Bayern to join the La Liga side.

Los Blancos will take him on a loan deal without a purchase option. It’s further claimed the stopper is now ‘one step away’ from the Bernabéu.

The Moroccan was the main target but the cost to sign him [€20m] plus losing him in January and February for the AFCON has convinced Carlo Ancelotti’s side to bet on the Blues man.

Kepa is an affordable option since Real Madrid would only take care of his wages. AS, at the moment, aren’t clear if Chelsea would receive a loan fee.

AS journalist Manu Sainz took to Twitter to state that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has always liked the Spain international. He adds Kepa has ‘always dreamed’ of playing for Los Blancos.

The Chelsea goalkeeper is now ‘one step away’ from fulfilling his dream.
