As you’re probably aware by now, Pedro is set to leave Chelsea this summer when his contract comes to an end.
The Spaniard’s deal at Stamford Bridge ends this year and, despite having agreed on a short extension until the end of the season, there’s no chance of him staying beyond that.
He’s subsequently been linked with moves all around Europe, but it appears Italy, and Roma, will be his next destination.
They’ve been named as suitors for several months and, while there’s been no official announcement, it’s been felt that he’ll be signing for the Italian side at some point.
The last we heard about his departure from Chelsea was on the 26th of June, and it appears there may have been reason for that.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Pedro has promised Chelsea that he won’t talk about Roma until he has left London.
That means he won’t discuss the potential move in any interviews, won’t like or follow anything linked to Roma on social media and won’t make any ‘secret visits’ to study the city ahead of his switch.
However, that is not to say he hasn’t been planning. The newspaper reports the Chelsea forward has third parties organising the transfer.
Indeed, he has given them a mandate to begin the search for a house or villa for him to live in and his fiancée, Patricia Magana, has already made a trip to the Italian capital for an ‘inspection’.
In the meantime, Pedro is working with ‘great professionalism’ in and around Chelsea but in short, his time in London is over and he ‘cannot wait’ to leave for a new adventure in Rome.
