It’s that time of the season, when there’s very little to talk about during the international break, and pages need to be filled all around Europe.

Gazzetta, with more than a few column inches to spare, look at where some of the main protagonists of this season’s Serie A campaign could end up next year, and give us some lovely percentages to define the probability of them joining clubs.

One of the players look at is Lazio’s Stefan de Vrij, who has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs in the past, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

Unsurprisingly, it’s these two clubs Gazzetta focus on, with both José Mourinho and Antonio Conte reportedly fighting for the Dutchman’s services next summer, yet the Blues apparently have a better chance of signing him.

The Italian newspaper claim there is a 25% chance the defender could end up at Stamford Bridge come next September, while a move to Old Trafford is rated at only 20%.

This very much goes against what fellow outlet Il Messaggero have been publishing over the past few months, claiming De Vrij already had a foot in Manchester United, with the Premier League club ready to gift him to José Mourinho for the upcoming season.

Inter Milan are also ranked with a 25% chance of signing him, while a stay at Lazio remains the likeliest with 30%.

The general consensus this season has been that an exit for the Netherlands international is on the cards, having honed his skills in Italy for the past few seasons, and a step up is needed to further his career.

Where that will happen, however, is still up in the air.
