Chelsea have started talks for the contract renewal of N’Golo Kante, according to reports today.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web writes that the Blues are having ‘early talks’ with the midfielder’s entourage for a new deal.
It’s said the talks are for a renewal until 2025, with Chelsea looking to protect the player as soon as possible.
Kante, who last signed an extension with Chelsea back in 2018, has his current contract with the Stamford Bridge side running until the summer of 2023, so it’s indeed time to get concerned about it.
Since arriving from Leicester City on a €36m fee in 2016, Kante has been having a quite successful time at Chelsea, with 245 matches played already.
In those years at the Stamford Bridge, he’s won a Premier League, an FA Cup, a Europa League, a Champions League, a UEFA Supercup and a Club World Cup.
Now with a potential new deal on the way, he’s certainly hungry for more.
