Continuing with a strong chase for Palmeiras youngster Estevão, Chelsea will be watching the player up close tonight.
According to UOL, the Blues will have representatives at the Verdão’s match against Independiente del Valle in the Copa Libertadores.
The report claims that Chelsea are willing to accelerate the talks to get the transfer completed as soon as possible.
The Blues have advanced talks for the signing, and recently agreed to pay a package of €60m to get the 17-year-old. The clubs are now discussing how much would be paid up front and the remaining amount in performance bonuses.
Palmeiras are fighting hard to get as much money as possible now. They’re also set to hold Estevão until the summer of 2025, since that’s when he’ll be 18 and therefore able to complete the move to Europe.
Estevão has been a starter in Palmeiras’ recent games so there’s a good chance he’ll be in the team tonight. Perhaps, depending on what he does against Independiente, Chelsea will be convinced to pay what’s demanded for him. Still, it seems pretty clear that the Blues are convinced to work fast and beat the competition for the winger.
