As Chelsea continue their internal revolution, it appears that Todd Boehly is already planning his next move staff wise.
Following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel and the appointment of Graham Potter as his replacement, the American owner, who acted as interim director of football during the summer transfer window, wants someone more specialised to take over full time.
That man, as revealed by the English media, is Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Campos, and Le Parisien add some information of their own when talking about the claim.
They state Chelsea have offered the Portuguese transfer guru an ‘annual salary of €8m to immediately leave’ the Ligue 1 side and ‘take charge of the next two transfer windows’, meaning January and next summer.
Not only that, but the Blues owner would also give him a ‘pharaonic envelope of €300m to invest in rethinking the first-team’.
That shows how serious Chelsea are to return to the top of the Premier League pile, which has been dominated by Liverpool and Manchester City of late.
We’ll have to see if this is something the Portuguese transfer man wants to do, but having just joined Paris Saint-Germain, he might not be too keen to move once again.
Either way, if he did decide to leave, Chelsea would only have to compensate Paris Saint-Germain, with no clause in Campos’ contract suggesting he can’t leave if he so wishes.
The only stipulation is that he cannot work for more than three teams, and he is currently working with the Ligue 1 leaders and Celta Vigo.
