There are fresh claims from Spain on just how big Chelsea’s latest offer for Alvaro Morata is.
AS have an article in their Thursday edition, built partly using Cadena Ser information, which claims Chelsea have offered €75m.
Just a few days ago another Spanish newspaper, Marca, said Chelsea had made an offer of €60m and seen it rejected, but then later said that if a club were to offer €80m, then it could change things altogether.
Of course, the only reason Chelsea would be considering such an offer is if they had been tempted to sell Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid, for the claimed offer of €60m.
Morata is the younger option, with big potential, and less baggage. It would be something to consider. That’s the only reason these rumours deserve more than a second glance, and even then it should only be a quick one.
It’s hard to see Morata being first choice for Madrid next season and therefore hard to believe that they’d really turn down €75m.
