On Monday, we covered multiple claims from Spain which stated Chelsea want to sign Deportivo La Coruña’s Yeremay Hernández in the winter market.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sport reported the west London club insist on signing the winger in this window. Deportivo La Coruña director Massimo Benassi claims his €20m release clause has to be triggered for his exit.

Marca now state Chelsea have made an attempt to sign the 22-year-old by not activating his clause.

The Blues have sent a proposal to the Segunda División club and that includes a €10m fixed fee plus bonuses linked to the Spaniard’s performances and Chelsea’s objectives.

There’s also a percentage of any profit from his future sale plus a Chelsea player as part of the English club’s proposal. Chelsea have offered some of their players to Deportivo La Coruña and are letting them take their pick, although it’s not clear whether it’ll be a loan.

The deal offered by the Premier League side is deemed ‘insufficient’ by Deportivo La Coruña and they continue to refer to his €20m release clause. Marca make no mention of whether Enzo Maresca’s side will return with an improved offer for Yeremay.
