AC Milan’s attempt to sign Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea on a permanent deal should be successful in the coming days, according to reports.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is the one claiming that the Rossoneri will now make this ‘important investment’ to hold the defender.
When agreeing Tomori’s loan deal in January, the clubs had set a buying option of £25m.
The report now says that even though Milan tried to get a discount, Chelsea were ‘not open’ to negotiating and did not accept to drop the price.
Di Marzio says that the deal will be made formal and the contracts will be drawn ‘over the next week’.
Tomori is a product of the Chelsea’s academy, although he only made 27 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2016.
For the past few years, he’s had loan spells at Brighton, Hull City, Derby County and finally Milan, for whom he only needed 22 appearances to convince them of going for his permanent move.
