Chelsea and Newcastle United are leading the race for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, with him expected to leave the Italian giants.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the player is ‘anything but unsellable’ as far as Juventus are concerned.
The newspaper explains that Juventus need to sell if they wish to complete a planned reconstruction of Max Allegri’s squad this summer.
Those plans involve adding another midfielder to his options, but for that to happen, someone will have to lead, and the likes of Arthur and Rabiot are on the list of possible sales.
While the latter is being targeted by Arsenal, who showed an interest in January, the latter also has ‘headlights’ from the Premier League on him.
They are specifically coming from Chelsea and Newcastle, who are ‘in pole’ to secure his signature at this moment in time.
He’d be available for as little as €15m as his contract is due to expire next summer, but his mother Veronique, who acts as his agent, is looking around Europe to see what other options there are and hoping former club PSG may show an interest.
That means Chelsea and Newcastle could face serious competition, although at this moment in time, there is no indication the French champions will look to bring the midfielder back.
