Daniele Rugani’s departure from Juventus is now said to be on ‘stand by’, at least by Tuttosport.

The Turin newspaper says the Old Lady are actually waiting for a new attempt from Chelsea to sign the defender.

The Blues’ next bid should be over €50m including bonuses, but there’s more than money involved in the process this time.

Juventus are actually worried that they may have to hold him in case they let another young defender leave on a loan deal.

It’s all related to Leonardo Bonucci’s return, according to Tuttosport. If he arrives, then Mattia Caldara goes to Milan on loan, Juventus don’t want to lose both him and Rugani in the same transfer window.

That’s why Chelsea should wait for the outcome for now, but with only two weeks left before the Premier League transfer window is closed, maybe the Blues will have to put some pressure on the Italian side to get the deal done.
