Chelsea are losing the chance to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke 04, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport today.
The Turin outlet claims the Blues were in negotiations for the left-back on deadline day, just like Juventus and Milan.
Antonio Conte reportedly wanted the 23-year-old to join the club still in the January transfer window, but as the German side were demanding €8m for a player whose contract expires at the end of the season, Chelsea refused to pay that.
On deadline say, Tuttosport reported that Chelsea were staging an ‘ultimate last minute blitz’ to sign Kolasinac. That came after claims from Germany on Monday that Chelsea were keen to sign the player.
Now Tuttosport claims that Juventus ended up convincing the player and already have an agreement to sign him at the end of his contract. There are still a few days until Kolasinac can sign a pre-contract with the Old Lady, so there would still be time for Chelsea to try to convince him.
Tuttosport seem pretty certain about the agreement with Juve, so the Blues may have missed their final chance on Tuesday. But then, Tuttosport are a Turin newspaper so there’s every chance their reporting this from a viewpoint biased to Juventus.
