Antoine Griezmann is making headlines this summer for his heroics at the Euros..

The Atletico Madrid forward has fired his country to the final of Euro 2016, but there never was any doubt over his quality.

The 25-year-old very recently signed a contract extension at Atletico Madrid, and any interested club would now pay a few extra million to sign him this summer.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Griezmann was already on the wishlist of several major clubs in Europe, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Paris-Saint Germain.

The Premier League side and interested clubs should now pay the release clause of €100m (previously €80m) for his services, as it’s very unlikely Atletico Madrid will sell him for a penny less.

It is also reported Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simone has made it very clear that he’d only continue at the club should Griezmann stay. But if someone pays the clause it’s taken out of the club’s hands… and Simeone could then hardly revolt.

The Frenchman is now one of the highest earners at Atletico Madrid, and it remains to be seen if he’d fancy a move away from this summer. Furthermore, his performances at Euro 2016 have moved him into the elite category, and he may well be aiming higher than Chelsea or PSG.

All of that said… what an exciting signing it would be!
