Inter’s Marcelo Brozović was linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Italian media claimed Antonio Conte is an admirer of the Croatian midfielder and wants to bring him on board at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old completed his permanent move to Inter this summer in a €5m deal, after spending the last season on loan.
It now appears the Serie A club are ready to offer the Croatian a new contract. Inter are set offer Brozovic a new contract worth €4m/season until 2021, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter are well aware of interest in Brozovic, and want to insert a release clause of €55m for foreign clubs.
Chelsea won’t certainly may not mind paying €55m for Brozovic should they be genuinely interested in signing him, but he was available for €30m in the summer so it’s a big jump.
