Tiemoué Bakayoko to Milan is getting there, don’t you worry.
That’s what Corriere dello Sport are pushing on Tuesday, claiming the Chelsea midfielder’s transfer from Stamford Bridge to San Siro could be one of the first finalised by the Serie A club.
They’ve been working on the France international’s transfer ‘for two months’, but ‘there was always the obstacle of the price’.
Initially, the idea was to do a loan with an obligation to buy, but that changed ‘in the last hours’, with the two clubs ‘taking the path of the onerous loan with the right of redemption’.
This means Milan ‘will have no decision making constraints at the end of the season and will be free to exercise the option or not’.
As things stand, ‘the parties are really close and finalising the final details’, with it being possible the deal ‘may even close this week’.
Furthermore, ‘there is a lot of confidence around the successful outcome of the negotiation’.
It’s certainly very promising, both for Frank Lampard, who has no need of Bakayoko in his plans, and Milan, who desperately want him in theirs.
