Chelsea and Manchester City are both said to be keeping an eye on the Sassuolo midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Premier League clubs are both showing interest as the youngster has been excelling for the Italian side.

CapturarPellegrini joined Sassuolo from Roma last year for only €1.25m. The newspaper claims that the clubs have a verbal agreement which means the player could be bought back for €10m.

However, the English attention is something that could significantly raise these figures, and that’s why Roma are keeping in touch to know if the gentleman’s agreement is still on.

The 20-year-old has six appearances for Sassuolo this season. Although Transfermarkt value him at €2.5m, the talk in Italy is that he’s going nowhere for a price like that.

Tuttosport says Pellegrini likes the idea of moving to the Premier League, which should only make Roma more concerned about the situation.
