Granada would like Chelsea loanee Kenedy to remain at the club next season but will not be exercising an option they have on the Brazilian.
That’s according to Grada 3, who say the decision will rest on Chelsea, who have summoned him back for pre-season.
The website explains that Kenedy’s performances have been ‘beyond doubt’ while on loan with Granada this season, with him managing eight goals and six assists in 44 games.
The commitment he has shown is hard to find in loan players, and that’s because he found a ‘habitat’ where he could ‘feel comfortable and develop his skills’.
Granada have an option to buy him, but they will not exercise that clause and instead look for a different deal.
They want to continue with Kenedy next season, something the winger also wants, so long as Chelsea are planning without him next season.
Everything will depend on pre-season with Chelsea, with the Blues planning to assess those in the squad who are not at the European Championships or Copa America.
That will be the moment Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel can ‘make a decision’ on Kenedy’s short-term future, with Granada waiting in the wings to sign him up again.
