Chelsea and Manchester United are two of the clubs in the race for Lyon defender Castello Lukeba, according to reports from France.
Outlet Jeunes Footeux features a piece on the 19-year-old and highlighting the great evolution he’s been having since his promotion to their first team.
His good performances for the Ligue 1 side reportedly drew the attention from some foreign clubs, and the list of interested sides looks pretty strong.
Besides Chelsea and Manchester United, it’s claimed that the likes of Ajax, Borussia Dormund, Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid are all ‘on the lookout’ for the youngster.
It doesn’t really sound like there are heavy contacts from those clubs for now, as they’re just said to be ‘closely following’ Lukeba. Still, their interest is said to be for a summer move already.
The defender has just signed a contract extension with Lyon, who certainly won’t let him leave for a small fee.
For now, he’s valued by Transfermarkt at only €2.5m, which is a usual valuation for young players who’ve just been promoted, meaning Chelsea and Manchester United would probably have to dig a lot deeper than that to sign Lukeba.
