It seems Chelsea or Manchester United wouldn’t have such a hard job to sign Douglas Costa from Juventus in the future.
Reacting to recent reports, Italian website Calcio Mercato brings a story explaining the reasons why Douglas Costa isn’t that important for the Old Lady these days.
They say although the Brazilian was the best Juve player last season, he’s been having been on a downward spiral since.
Calcio Mercato writes that Costa ‘hasn’t been decisive’ and ‘hasn’t been able to make a difference’ in the current season, and that’s why a goodbye would be ‘less traumatic’.
The website lists Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich as possible destinations for the Brazilian, although all of these claims come from somewhere else.
In fact, Douglas Costa’s stats from the last season can’t be compared to the current one. He had six goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances in 2017/18. Now, the Brazilian has only one goal and two assists so far. So it’s no surprise Juve wouldn’t make the same efforts to hold him.
