AC Milan are considering using their relationship with Chelsea to get a deal for Hakim Ziyech over the line in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say that the Italian side remain keen on the Moroccan since trying to sign him in the summer.
The newspaper explain that the path between Chelsea and Milan has proved ‘particularly regenerating’ for the Serie A side over the last few years, with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori both proving to be successful signings.
They are now considering a third such move for Ziyech, who is ‘aiming for a new youth’ away from Stamford Bridge.
He finds himself as one of the ‘many reserves with no particular ambitions’ at the club and there is a feeling Milan can ‘restore his vigour’.
Milan are equally keen on a deal and know they can afford him, so Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini are hoping to use their good relationship with Chelsea to get a deal over the line.
They know his price tag has already fallen and are hoping for a further reduction in January, perhaps even securing a loan with a right to buy included for the summer.
Ziyech has already been commenting on his future from Morocco’s training camp at the World Cup and while refusing to fuel rumours, has hinted a decision is in the making. Milan certainly think so and are now seemingly eyeing up a move in January.
