Chelsea are making one last attempt to sign Victor Osimhen today, proposing a loan with an obligation to buy.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who report Osimhen’s future is still up in the air on deadline day.

They say that Chelsea are making one last attempt to add Osimhen to Enzo Maresca’s squad, proposing a loan deal with an obligation to buy. That is a formula that could well work for Napoli and President Aurelio de Laurentiis.

In the meantime, Al-Ahli are in the background waiting to see if Osimhen will join them. They’re in no rush as their window remains open until October 6th.

A deal has already been set with Napoli worth €80m, and a four-year contract of €30m per year. That would also include a release clause worth €50m that can be activated from 2026.

But they’re yet to receive the definitive green light from the player, who may be waiting to see if Chelsea get a last-minute deal done.

That is why they’re taking precautions and have reached a deal for Ivan Toney. He’s already undergone medical tests in London and the deal with Brentford for €50m has been locked down.

It all seems to depend on Chelsea, who are making one last attempt to get the striker on deadline day.
