Chelsea have made contact for the signing of Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, according to claims from Spain.
Outlet AS says it was the Blues’ goalkeeping scout Christophe Lollichon who spoke to the player’s entourage about his situation and his demands for a possible move.
The outlet claims that Frank Lampard has been looking for an experienced goalkeeper to compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga, since Willy Caballero’s contract is running out at the end of the season and he isn’t staying at Stamford Bridge.
It isn’t said how much Chelsea are offering or how much Crystal Palace would demand. It’s just claimed the Selhurst Park side are more interested in giving Guaita a new contract, since his current deal expires in 2021.
Besides Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham are also said to be following the 33-year-old, so it would appear this could be news from his agent. Pep Guardiola’s interest in him had been reported last year, but it looks like the Hammers’ chase may be something new.
