Chelsea forward Lucas Piazon is set to become Braga’s first signing of the January transfer window, with a deal to be ‘made official soon’.

That’s what Record report today, stating that the player had ended his relationship with the Blues to make the permanent switch to Portugal.

Earlier this week we covered a report from Italy that stated Piazon was set to be on the move again this month and end his loan spell with Rio Ave.

Bordeaux, Norwich City and Stoke City were all thought to be in the hunt for the Chelsea man, but it wasn’t made clear if he was moving on loan or permanently.

Record provide that today and say it is none of those three but Braga who have won the race, with a deal very much close to completion.

They say that Piazon recently left Rio Ave, where’s he’s been on loan since September 2019 and was set to stay until the end of the season, and ‘ended the bond with Chelsea‘, where his contract was set to expire in the summer.

That would suggest he’ll be arriving at Braga on a free transfer, although when it comes to Piazon, we wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be another loan deal.
