Over the past couple of weeks, the European media didn’t have a lot say about Brazilian wonderkid Endrick. That’s because until he turns 16, which will happen in July, he can’t sign his first professional contract with Palmeiras and get sold to a European club.
So as Marca today features a piece on the youngster, pointing out that Real Madrid’s interest in signing him is still strong, they also claim the competition for his transfer is actually getting easier for the Santiago Bernabeu side.
The reason for this is the bad timing for most of the clubs who are interested in Endrick, with one of those being Chelsea, who ‘seem to be falling off the table’.
Marca points out the Blues currently have their accounts frozen, with uncertainty about who their new owners will be, and that definitely makes them weaker in the race for the Brazilian.
Other clubs such as Barcelona, who are struggling with finances, and Paris Saint Germain, who will have other priorities this summer, are now unlikely to make big efforts as well.
It’s said the price for Endrick will be of at least €25m, with another €20m in bonuses, money Chelsea currently might have but can’t use.
Real Madrid, who already paid similar prices for Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, continue to be keen, while Chelsea and others no longer look like potential threats.
