Chelsea have been brought into the race for AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar. L’Equipe have a feature in their Monday edition looking at interest in several Monaco players, and Lemar is one of those.
With Monaco facing Manchester City this week in the Champions League, the club’s most wanted stars will be given a chance to underline that status even more. Good performances against City will also allow Monaco to up their asking prices.
Chelsea are said to have joined Manchester City in being keen on Lemar, but reported interest from the Etihad predates Pep Guardiola’s time in charge.
Antonio Conte could sign the player for between €40m and €45m according to the French newspaper, which is a big price for a 21 year old who is still making his name on the European stage.
Conte will push Chelsea to back him during the summer window and if Lemar is a man he wants, then a big move for the left winger is to be expected.
