On Monday, with not many details, we covered claims in the Italian media saying that Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko would soon return to the Blues.
With the player not impressing during his loan spell at AC Milan, the agreement which should run until 2023 could be cut short, with the player being sent back to London.
Now we get to see more information on this case in a story from Calcio Mercato.
They write that with Bakayoko struggling to ‘enter the Rossoneri’s game’, it’s ‘not excluded’ that the deal between Milan and Chelsea will be reviewed so they can cut it short.
Milan have a buying option over Bakayoko worth €15m which becomes obligatory in case he makes 15 appearances of at least 45 minutes in the 2022/23 season. Now as he fails to impress this season, it’s said this is an ‘important sign’ that it won’t be different in the next one.
The Chelsea loanee last played in January, and as written by Calcio Mercato, ‘he makes a lot of mistakes, messes too much in midfield without ever reading a cut by the opponents. The performance is not great, and since that day Pioli has not made him take the field’.
