In Germany they’re getting ready for next season already. Borussia Monchengladbach on Monday announced their manager Marco Rose will be leaving at the end of the current campaign, and joining Borussia Dortmund.

That came after Bayern Munich had confirmed the signing of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.

Bayern had to move for a defender, with uncertainty over their own options. David Alaba’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Bild today state Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all keen on him.

Real Madrid would be the player’s ‘dream’, however, it’s suggested that option may not materialise, with a move to the Premier League now acceptable.

That gives hope to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, and they should be able to start a full-on battle after today. Bild report Alaba wants to announce his transfer future on Tuesday, making it official that he’s going to leave Bayern.

From then on, he get on with on with playing… and finding a new club.
