Chelsea and Leicester City both had officials in the Algarve at the weekend. Both clubs had scouts watching the match between Portimonense and Sporting, as reported by Record.
It wasn’t a shocking result as the Lions got a 3-1 away win, and are currently top of the league table. With a good performance from them, there was a lot for the Premier League clubs to see.
The first thing we must highlight is the performance from Raphinha. The Brazilian scored a fantastic goal to open the scoring, and when Sporting were being pressed as they were winning 2-1, he found the goal which gave his team the win.
Other players who had a great match were Bruno Fernandes, who made three assists, and former Fulham striker Lucas Vietto.
With Chelsea being banned from making signings this summer, they haven’t been linked to any Sporting players lately.
Things aren’t very different with Leicester City, but we must point out they’ve been scouting several games during the start of the Portuguese league, so perhaps the names they’re keeping an eye on will soon show up.
Other clubs who had officials at this match were Mallorca, Sevilla, Lech Poznan, Bayern Munich and Koln.
