Every single year, we see young talents rising at Sporting and being linked with big moves around Europe.
One of the teenagers who made their debut for the Lions this season was Eduardo Quaresma, who’s had a couple of chances to play for the first team.
And it turns out that despite his few minutes as a professional, he’s already being followed by Premier League sides, such as Chelsea.
Newspaper Jornal de Notícias brings a piece today reporting the player’s new contract, as he’s just signed a five-year deal with the Lisbon side.
Their headline says his new contract has an ‘anti Premier League clause’. Even though the name suggests it would only work against English clubs, they’re actually talking about the €45m release clause.
The reason for that name is that the player is attracting interest from Premier League sides, and he’s said to be aware of that.
Chelsea are named as one of the clubs who’ve been ‘following him attentively’. But it now looks like it should be a lot harder to sign the 18-year-old.
