Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz has seemingly confirmed Kai Havertz’s impending move to Chelsea, at least if his latest comments are anything to go by.

The midfielder has been a target for the Blues all summer, with weeks of negotiations between themselves and Leverkusen over their huge asking price.

A deal was struck earlier this week, with reports today indicating that he was ‘on his way’ to Chelsea to undergo a medical, following earlier claims that could take place on Saturday.

Bosz has now seemingly confirmed a deal is there ready to be completed, with SportBild journalist Christian Falk quoting him as saying “We are losing a great player” when asked about the situation.

That backs up suggestions from elsewhere, namely Germany coach Joachim Löw, who has also made it clear the player was on the way to Stamford Bridge.

He left Havertz sat on the bench for Germany’s clash with Spain last night, with later reports saying the player had left the international camp to finalise his move.

And speaking to the team’s official website, relayed by Sport Buzzer, the German coach explained what was going on.

“We knew that the last details would be clarified today and tomorrow with his contract with Chelsea,” he said.

“The player was a bit torn. On the one hand, he wanted to join the national team.

“On the other hand, he absolutely wants to take this step. Of course, we also know about the importance and magnitude

“(I) didn’t want to take another risk that something could be endangered in this deal.

“There is the problem; if he has signed the contract and enters Switzerland, he may have to be in quarantine.”
