Chelsea are one of several clubs eyeing up a move for Lazio’s Raul Moro, who is increasingly frustrated by a lack of playing time for the Serie A side.
Lazio bet big on the Spanish winger in August 2019 when they paid £5.4m to sign him from Barcelona’s Under 18 side, believing he could be a star for the future.
He’s impressed for Lazio’s Primavera since, with 11 goals and three assists in 19 games so far making for exciting reading.
However, he is yet to get his chance in the first team, having made his debut in the 2-1 defeat to Juventus back in July and not appeared since.
While he’s regularly been on the bench for Lazio this season, he’s yet to taste game time, and that is causing some concern for his management, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.
They say the Spaniard’s future is ’at a crossroads’ as his entourage would like to see him playing, and there is a feeling he simply won’t be given a chance by Lazio.
While they are not demanding chances for him, they believe he has proven worthy of a shot and the fact he isn’t being given it means his future ‘must be considered under discussion’.
On that front, several European teams have already shown an interest including some in the Premier League.
Among those are Chelsea, whose interest in the youngster is said to be ‘above all’ the others in regards to England. There is also a top club in Italy keeping an eye on him, although who that is remains unknown.
His agent, while not naming Chelsea specifically, is aware of this, telling the website “if Inzaghi or the club don’t want him, we have top clubs interested in him”.
That suggests contact has been made and this rumour is one to keep a close eye on in the near future as Lampard and co eye another youngster for their ranks.
