It wasn’t easy for Chelsea to negotiate with Napoli for Maurizio Sarri in the summer and days after his appointment, Jorginho followed his manager to Stamford Bridge.

Calciomercato.it claims, after these deals were concluded, the two clubs signed a gentlemen’s agreement which stopped the Blues from signing more players from the Serie A outfit.

It’s claimed the Premier League side may soon break that agreement as there is worry at the club that they could be facing a transfer ban.

Anticipating this potential roadblock in signing players, the west London club have set their sights on Elseid Hysaj, who Sarri is said to like. His current deal runs down in 2021 and he has a release clause of €50m.

One of the players in the right-back position at Chelsea is Davide Zappacosta and their idea is to offload him after this season and this is when the idea of signing Carlo Ancelottii’s defender emerges as a concrete option.

The FA Cup winners have already started negotiating with Napoli for the Albania international star and the idea is to sign him in January and loan him back to the Italian club until the end of the season.

Calciomercato.it mentions the English side are trying to lower the asking price and there’s been several contacts between the two clubs for the player.

For the same reason, Hysaj’s contract talks with Napoli have now stopped and the club have identified Spal’s Manuel Lazzari as a target for the right-back position.

Should Chelsea fail to agree a deal for Hysaj, then Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will move quickly to tie down his fullback to a long-term deal.
