Italian outlet Calcio Mercato now brings the latest on the future of Kaio Jorge, who could soon be on his way out of Santos.
There’s been rumours in the local press saying Serie A clubs could have a pre-agreement with the 19-year-old, whose contract with the Brazilian side expires in December.
Calcio Mercato found out the whispers are untrue, although they state there’s a list of European sides looking for the youngster, and that includes Chelsea.
The Blues are one of those who’ve been in touch with agent Giuliano Bertolucci for the move. They’re said to be along with Ajax, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Juventus, Lyon and Shakhtar Donetsk in the race.
Last week, Santos president Andrés Rueda confirmed that they’re having a hard time renewing Kaio Jorge’s contract at the club.
Still just 18-years-of-age, the striker conquered his place in their starting team and scored five goals in the Copa Libertadores campaign which took them to the final. That’s obviously enough for European sides to keep an eye on the teenager.
Chelsea have negotiated with Giuliano Bertolucci many times, since he’s also the agent of Oscar, Willian, Lucas Piazon, David Luiz and others.
Kaio Jorge himself has been pointed out as a target for the Blues since 2018, even before he made his professional debut for Santos.
