Chelsea has repeatedly been talked about as one of the potential destinations for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho.

On Monday, news coming out of Spain explained the 27-year-old’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, is ‘already in talks’ with the Blues over a move.

However, there was no mention of a potential structure of the deal.

Sport on Tuesday brings more on this.

In England, and in some Spanish publications, it’s been reported Chelsea could offer around €80m for the Brazilian.

However, Sport state Barcelona value the player at €90m. Of course, it’s hard to believe Barca would genuinely turn down €80m from Chelsea if they came knocking with such an amount, but it’s explained that because of the way the transfer fee paid to Liverpool has amortised, even that figure would have to go down as a loss.

Sport state Chelsea are ready to start negotiations, and they believe all Premier League interest is on the basis of a loan. They would be ready to pay a loan fee of €13m to Barcelona and also take over the player’s salary.

Barcelona would prefer a mandatory purchase option, although it could be unlikely they’d get one. Regardless, Sport say a buying option of €60m next summer would be enough for the Catalan club not to post a loss.
