Enzo Maresca left Leicester City for Chelsea last month, and it’s claimed he wanted to bring Mads Hermansen with him.

That’s according to Denmark’s Bold, who say the Leicester goalkeeper was the Chelsea manager’s ‘big wish’ for this summer.

Leicester signed the 24-year-old from Brøndby IF in July 2023. He impressed in his debut season, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceding 41 goals from 44 league games.

Chelsea made the Dane their first priority target, mainly because of Maresca, and they have had a ‘strong desire’ to sign him in this window.

It’s claimed the west London club have held talks with Leicester for the stopper, but the deal hasn’t progressed because of the ‘huge price’ tag set.

Bold explain Leicester requested £40m, which put off their Premier League counterpart. Despite Hermansen being Maresca’s ‘big wish’, Chelsea are not willing to meet the Foxes’ asking price, and decided to look at other options.

Chelsea are now looking to sign Filip Jørgensen, and recent claims have stated that they are close to securing his services.
