Chelsea were repeatedly linked with Radja Nainggolan in the summer, but the player was keen on staying at the Serie A club.

Nainggolan was promised by AS Roma that he’d be offered a new contract with a pay raise, obviously, but that hasn’t happened yet.

According to a claim from Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Chelsea are set to revive their interest in Nainggolan in the January transfer window.

Het Nieuwsblad reckon Chelsea will make an offer for the Belgian international in January, and the player would also consider the offer from the London club. However, it’s been reported Chelsea should be aware of the Financial Fair Play rules, and must sell before signing someone.

Het Nieuwsblad say Conte could sell Nemanja Matic, who they believe is wanted by Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, Oscar and Cesc Fabregas. We’re not really sure if Conte would want to sell Matic, as he has been a key player for him this season.

It sounds like speculation from Belgium on Nainggolan and as long as he’s happy in Rome, Chelsea would be wasting their time anyway.
