Chelsea have been warned that youngster Roony Bardghji is not ready for a big transfer yet, despite his impressive performances for FC Copenhagen.
Bardghji is one of the rising stars of Danish football, despite only celebrating his 16th birthday on the 15th of November.
That made him elegible to make his debut in the Danish Superliga, and he’s already made a big impression, scoring in the recent 3-1 win over Aalborg.
That goal took him to five goals in 12 games in all competitions this season, a tally which has only helped to build on his growing reputation.
The big clubs are already said to be circling, with a report from BT last week stating that Chelsea are ‘crazy’ about him.
They sent their the head of youth recruitment Jim Fraser to Copenhagen in early November to watch Bardghji in a U19 clash with Silkeborg and then again for his debut in the Superliga.
That was seen as a ‘clear signal’ that Chelsea are keen on adding another highly-rated and Voetbal Primeur insist they are ‘fully in the race’ to sign him. His manager, however, isn’t keen on a transfer yet.
“The new strategy is to give more talents a chance,” he reportedly told TV3.
“But it is not the intention that see play only a few games here and then leave. These players have to want to stay here for a few years to help Copenhagen get great results.
“If really big clubs come, of course, the finances will play a role. But I don’t think he’s ripe for a transfer yet.”
