Solely focusing on their attempts to sign Charles de Ketelaere from Club Brugge, Milan put the idea of signing Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea to one side.

However, their struggles to bring the Belgian to San Siro have forced them to reconsider the Morocco international, as explained by Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper point out ‘the name of Hakim Ziyech always remains very hot and topical’, because a failure to sign De Ketelaere would mean ‘it’s not excluded that Maldini and Massara will try again for the 29-year-old from Chelsea’.

As previously stated numerous times, ‘the biggest obstacles remains the wages of €6m’, but if they can’t sign the Belgium international, those in charge of Milan ‘would have more willingness to sink the blow’ for the Blues forward.

Down their end, Chelsea ‘should open up to the loan formula and help the player land in Italy’, much like they did with Romelu Lukaku and his Inter deal.

Despite Ziyech travelling with the Blues to the United States, the player ‘hopes to be able to conclude a transfer elsewhere as soon as possible’, with Milan seen as the ‘most likely to welcome him’.

Let’s wait and see about that, shall we?
