Yesterday, we covered an emerging story from Spain, first broken by Cadena COPE, that Valencia in Spain were looking at Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi to bolster their attack.

The idea was for the Belgium international to move to the Mestalla on loan, and the discussions between the two sides were about whether or not to include an option to buy in the deal.

This deal would have been parallel to Kevin Gameiro’s, who is touted to leave Atlético Madrid to move to Valencia, and was most likely planned in case Simone Zaza decided to return to Italy.

Super Deporte on Thursday have an article on the matter, and confirm that Michy Batshuayi is indeed one of the names on Marcelino’s list, describing the Belgian as ‘fitting like a ring on a finger’ in the manager’s plans.

First, however, there is a need to find out what Maurizio Sarri thinks of the former Marseille star, as the striker is currently still on holidays after a lengthy World Cup run with his country.

However, should the new Chelsea manager agree to letting the 24-year-old go, Valencia are aware they’ll have a lot of competition, as they claim Batshuayi has offers from clubs like Everton, Sevilla and Napoli.

This one could be one of the late deals in the transfer window.
