As our friends across the pond would say, it’s been a minute since we heard some news regarding Inter’s interest in Davide Zappacosta.

The Chelsea defender has been linked with the Serie A side for the past few weeks as they try to replace the hole in their squad left by the departing Joao Cancelo and Davide Santon.

When we last left this story, it was Premium Sport with the update, claiming the Blues’ asking price of around €30m was deemed too ‘excessive’ by the Serie A club.

That amount has been rather consistent throughout the various reports across the Italian media, and Gazzetta dello Sport also stick with it, with Chelsea seemingly keen on making a profit on the 26-year-old.

Inter are said to have met ‘multiple times’ with the right-back’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, but the situation has yet to become ‘unblocked’.

This is the reason for the recent appearance of Matteo Darmian in articles about the Italian side’s search for a full-back, as Manchester United ‘only’ want €20m for the Italy international.

It seems Zappacosta remains the favourite out of the two, but there’s also Sime Vrsjalko and Aleix Vidal on that list.

We’ll keep you updated.
