In March, when Vasco da Gama managed to bring Andrey Santos back from Chelsea on a short loan spell, they knew they wouldn’t be able to use the midfielder a lot.

The Brazilian side accepted having the player until the end of June, and the Blues demanded that he’d be released for the U-20 World Cup in that period as well.

With Andrey doing well for Vasco in this little time, there’s an obvious question arising, which is about a potential extension to that loan. And outlet Papo Na Colina talked about that this week.

According to the outlet, the Rio de Janeiro side ‘do not count’ on the player for the second semester, as his stay is ‘ruled out’.

It’s said Chelsea are ‘excited’ with Andrey’s performances in Brazil and believe he’s getting a work permit in the summer.

Vasco have accepted the situation and should move for a replacement in the coming months.

Chelsea, meanwhile, prepare to make use of the youngster, for whom they paid €12.5m in January.
