Chelsea have retained their interest in Nicolò Barella, having tried to sign him in the past before his move to Inter.

Recently securing the league title, the Serie A side should be planning for the future with Antonio Conte and most of their team, as this could be their chance at domination, especially with Juventus slipping up and struggling for the first time in a while.

However, the Italian manager’s future at the moment remains somewhat uncertain, and a departure from the Italian could lead to some disgruntlement within the squad.

We’ll have to see what happens there, but regardless of whether he stays or goes, Inter are ‘forced to sell at least one valuable piece for budgetary reasons’, according to Leggo.

One of the players attracting some interest is Barella, with the newspaper claiming the midfielder is ‘in the sights’ of Chelsea, with ‘advances’ being made.

That the Blues are keen in the player isn’t new, as there were a number of reports back when Maurizio Sarri was still in charge of them wanting to get him from Cagliari.

A transfer never never happened, since Inter won that race, but it appears their admiration for the now 24-year-old never waned.

Should he be the (very unlikely) sacrifice, it’s stated a price of around €70m has been slapped on his back.

That being said, it’s made clear Conte will want Barella, Romelu Lukaku, Andrea Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez retained, but for Suning, who own Inter, it could ultimately come down to which club offers the most enticing bid.
