Benfica are still uncertain they will be able to hold on to Victor Lindelof until the end of the transfer window.
Chelsea, PSG, Inter Milan and Roma have all been linked to the player lately, but the Portuguese side don’t want to let him leave for less than his release clause, which is €30m.
In their Wednesday edition, Record say Chelsea have already bid €25m, but the offers will be rejected until they reach the price set.
The newspaper treats the Blues’ bid as something very good, but the big competition gives Benfica the power to wait for a bigger offer before selling the defender.
Lindelof got close to joining Middlesbrough earlier this year, and more recently, the Swedish media said Manchester United had made a bid.
However, the interest from both clubs seems to have disappeared, and Chelsea are the only Premier League side to be after him for now.
This one needs a strong note of caution as someone seems to be trying to up Lindelof’s profile, and Chelsea may well be being used.
