With his brother trying to recapture his form at Chelsea under Antonio Conte, Thorgan Hazard is enjoying a nice start to the season at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Starting four of his team’s seven games so far, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder has helped his side with six goals and three assists, and it’s attracting a lot of attention.
According to Bild in Germany, scouts from his former club, Chelsea, are likely to be present at the midweek game against RB Leipzig, as they continue to track his progress since selling him in July 2015 for £6.8m.
Furthermore the German newspaper reveal that a return to Stamford Bridge could be enacted rather easily, as the Premier League club currently have a buy-back clause on the Belgium international which runs for another 14 weeks.
Running out on the 31st of December, the clause could see the player return to London next summer, but Hazard isn’t too bothered about it all, saying it’s the last thing on his mind.
He said: “I signed a contract here because I want to play here. I’m not wasting a single thought on Chelsea, as I am totally focused on my job here.”
The clause is apparently set at €15m (£12.9m), and if he continues his current form until Christmas time, we could see the German press start panicking a lot more towards that time.
