Chelsea are showing ‘strong interest’ in Borussia Monchengladbach forward Jonas Hofmann this summer.
That’s according to Sport 1, who back up reports from Germany earlier today that the Blues are chasing the German.
Earlier this year, we covered several reports that’s Chelsea were keen on Hofmann after his impressive season in the Bundesliga.
Their interest in the 29-year-old was reportedly coming via Thomas Tuchel, who is a fan of the player after working with him at Borussia Dortmund.
Earlier today, Kicker stated that their ‘interest is growing’ ahead of the summer, although they made no mention of an asking price or anything of that nature.
Sport 1 provide that now and say there, as far as they understand, there is no release clause in Hofmann’s contract, which expires in 2023.
He can, however, be signed for ‘around €15m’, which is a figure that the likes of Chelsea could match quite comfortably.
The 29-year-old is also ‘open to change’ this summer, which means this should be a fairly easy deal to get done if Tuchel wants it as much as it seems he does.
