Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has rejected the chance to join Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
That’s according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard, who says the French defender wasn’t keen on the move to Molineux.
He reports that Zouma should leave Chelsea this summer, having fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel.
That situation is only likely to worsen should the Blues sign a new centre back too, with the likes of Raphael Varane and Jules Koundé touted as targets in recent weeks.
As such, it appears he is on the lookout for a new club, and Wolves have ‘positioned themselves’ to try and steal a march on the competition.
However, Maynard states that ‘the player declined’, although he doesn’t share Zouma’s reasons for doing so.
Perhaps it is because of the other sides who are interested, with Everton, Tottenham and AS Roma all said to be looking at a deal.
Whether either of those three sides get him remains to be seen, but it appears a move to Wolves to play under Bruno Lage is off the cards, despite their efforts to make it happen.
