Barcelona youngster Alejandro Balde is set to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp after turning down a ‘succulent’ offer from Chelsea.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say that the young full-back will sign his new deal at the club on Thursday.
They explain that the youngster is currently in pre-season training with the Barcelona first team and is considered of the club’s ‘most promising’ youngsters.
They’re keen to sign him up to a new deal, and he has agreed a five year contract with the club, although they have not excluded the idea of a three year deal with a two-year option in it.
The player’s representatives and Barça’s executives got the negotiations on track for the renewal this week.
That is because they plan for him to be a first-team star in future, with him set to be first-choice for the reserves this year and play a leading role in the first team after Junior Firpo joined Leeds.
The club also had to rush courtesy of interest from elsewhere, with both Chelsea and AC Milan making the youngster ‘succulent offers’.
He’s rejected those advances, though, making it clear he wants to stay at Barcelona and handing Chelsea their first transfer blow of what is likely to be a busy summer for the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
