Fenerbahce’s Danish defender Simon Kjaer he has no intention of leaving the Turkish clubs despite reported interest from Chelsea and Inter Milan. The Denmark international is currently attracting interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, but has said he wants to stay loyal to his current employers.

Signed from Lille for €7.5m, Kjaer is the most expensive defender in Fenerbahce’s history and recent reports in the Turkish press suggest Chelsea are ready to offer Fenerbahçe €20m to get him in the January transfer window. Antonio Conte is thought to want defensive reinforcements in January and Kjaer was a likely link.

Kjaer told Fanatik: ”I’m happy where I am. Me and my family are enjoying it here in Istanbul. I want to achieve great things with Fenerbahce and play in the Champions League with my team. That’s all I want to do right now.”

Kjaer is already a fan favourite at Fenerbahce following his brilliant defensive displays since joining from Lille. The 27 year old’s form has been even better this season as he builds a strong defensive partnership with former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.

The defender’s words may well please fans, but if Conte and Chelsea actually did make a move then things may change.
