Chelsea are keen on FC Copenhagen’s ‘super talent’ Roony Bardghji and have sent the head of their youth recruitment to take a look at him.
That’s according to BT, who cover the interest in the 16-year-old after he made his debut in the Superliga on Sunday.
They say that Roony put in a man of the match performance in the game, further strengthening the belief he is a talent for the future.
Indeed, they believe that fans ‘should hurry’ to enjoy him in Denmark while they can as the big clubs are already hovering.
One of them is Chelsea, who are said to be ‘crazy’ about the youngster and sent the head of youth recruitment Jim Fraser to Copenhagen in early November to watch Bardghji in an U19 clash with Silkeborg.
That was seen as a ‘clear signal’ that the interest from the Blues is ‘extremely warm’, never mind the fact that they were in attendance to watch him on Sunday.
Chelsea were already interested in the youngster when he joined Copenhagen from Malmo in 2020, and the ‘love affair’ is still intact, although they are yet to approach FCK’s sports director Peter Christiansen as yet.
The Blues aren’t the only ones to have noticed Bardghi, with Barcelona and Ajax having also sent scouts to rule over him.
Chelsea’s interest is the most serious, though, and there is a belief they could be tempted to offer a deal in which they sign the youngster and then loan him back to Copenhagen for a year or two.
It’s ‘doubtful’ whether the Danish side would be interested in such a deal, but the interest is there from Stamford Bridge nonetheless.
