Chelsea were a key candidate to land Victor Osimhen from Napoli last summer.

The Blues came close signing the player before the Nigerian joined Galatasaray on a loan deal.

The striker’s future is again up in the air again and Il Mattino have looked at his situation in detail today.

They state that while Arsenal and Manchester United are candidates to land the Napoli player, Chelsea can also return to the fore for the 26-year-old.

Osimhen is currently waiting for the right offer to come forward and he is said to harbour dreams with a move to the Premier League.

The outlet believe Chelsea have never given up on the chase for the player and that last summer, they only ‘postponed’ their move for him.

A move can definitely go through in the next few months, if Enzo Maresca’s side finish inside the top four. Juventus have also been mentioned as a possible candidate but as of now, they are out of the Champions League places.

This can end up working in Chelsea’s favour in the summer if Juve fail to finish outside the top four in Serie A.
